Bee Kind,
Rewind
Interactions, Not Algorithms
A real VHS rental store. Real job training. Real futures for autistic adults in the East Bay.
Real work. Real skills. Real futures.
Bee Kind, Rewind begins as a membership-based VHS rental store in the East Bay where autistic adults train for the workforce through hands-on store operations.
Participants build job-ready skills by doing the actual work: stocking shelves, helping customers, managing inventory, handling cash, working as part of a team, and learning basic tech repairs.
Physical media is making a comeback. Vinyl, VHS, and disc collecting have all seen renewed interest, and we're building something that fits right into that moment. Bee Kind, Rewind will be a fun place to learn real job skills. It is current and retro at the same time. There is just as much a draw for our customers as the awesome people we will be training.
What drives us
People Over Process
Every decision starts with what the participant actually needs.
Authentic Workplaces
Real customers and real stakes build real confidence.
Interactions, Not Algorithms
A great film recommendation comes from a person who loves movies, not a feed.
Dignity Through Structure
Clear roles and consistent routines give people room to succeed.
A video store that teaches job skills
The Store
A curated VHS rental store open to the public through affordable memberships. Thousands of titles across eight genres, organized and maintained by participants.
The Training
Participants rotate through real job roles — stocking shelves, processing returns, helping customers, managing inventory, and handling basic tech repairs.
The Outcome
Participants leave with documented work experience, transferable skills, and the confidence that comes from doing a real job well.
Interactions, not algorithms.
In an era of recommendation engines and infinite scroll, we believe the best way to discover a great film is to ask someone who loves movies. Our participants learn to listen, recommend, and connect. That's a skill no algorithm can teach.
The employment gap is real
